Department of Neonatal Medicine, Osaka Women’s and Children’s Hospital

With the support of the Japan Society of Perinatal and Neonatal Medicine, I had the opportunity to attend FAOPS 2024, held in Seoul, South Korea. At the conference, I delivered an oral presentation titled "Changes in Long-term Lung Function in Extremely Preterm Infants over a 20-year Period in the Post-surfactant Era." I have introduced my research, which showed that with the advancement of perinatal care, the respiratory function of extremely preterm infants has shown encouraging improvements over the past 20 years. During the Q&A session, I was able to discuss the long-term prognosis of extremely preterm infants with neonatologists from different countries.
During the event, I had the chance to engage with many colleagues involved in perinatal medicine across Asia and Oceania. Especially, I was particularly able to deepen my interactions with neonatologists in Korea. These interactions provided valuable insights into the latest research and clinical practices in the field, fostering collaboration and exchange of ideas that will surely benefit my future work.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the support, which made my participation in this important conference possible.
