Thanks to the support from Japan Society of Perinatal and Neonatal Medicine, my trip to participate in FAOPS 2024 in Seul was over without any trouble this time. This was my first participation in the internation conference, and it was very productive trip. In Seul, I gave the poster presentation, “Noninvasive neurally adjusted ventilatory assist in a newborn with the symptomatic eventration of the right diaphragm” on September 5th. I could discuss my case with many doctors at the poster presentation session and they gave me a new point of view and new knowledge. In this congress, I could feel how medical standard of neonatal medicine in Japan is high among the other countries by listening to didactic lectures, which is something we can be proud of. However, at the same time, by observing the poster presentations and participating in didactic lectures, I felt many Asian countries have hard time to keep high medical standard of neonatal medicine. Fortunately, we have a lot of resources and technology. On the other hand, many Asian countries are struggling to secure them. I strongly felt that like guest doctors who dedicate their knowledge and share their great experience to maintain high medical standard of neonatal medicine in all over the Asian countries, it would be great that someday I could do the same things not just for Japan but for the world.
