I would like to report on my participation in FAOPS 2026, which was held from March 23 to 25 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, a large venue located in the city of Perth. Perth is often described as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and indeed, its mild climate environment made it a very comfortable place to stay.
I presented a poster on March 23. As shown in the photograph, the poster area was more spacious than those typically seen in Japan, with ample distance between each presentation. This arrangement prevented overcrowding and allowed attendees to engage in discussions and view the posters in a relaxed and productive setting.
My presentation was titled “The Fluctuations of Regulatory T Cell Subpopulations in the Menstrual Cycle and Early Pregnancy due to the Influence of Sex Hormones.” In this study, I discussed how inflammation associated with endometriosis may contribute to reduced fertility, with particular focus on the role of regulatory T cells. I also presented findings suggesting that progesterone (P4) promotes the differentiation of naïve T cells into regulatory T cells.
Additionally, I had the opportunity to discuss related research with another presenter who reported an increased incidence of perinatal complications in pregnancies with a history of endometriosis. This led to a meaningful exchange regarding the impact of inflammation on pregnancy outcomes.
I am very grateful for the opportunity to study and discuss my research in such an excellent academic environment.
