FAOPS 2026 Parth Participation Report

Ryosuke Araki

Kyoto University Hospital

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to participate in PSANZ / FAOPS 2026 Perth and to present my research.
Perth is such a beautiful and safe, which made my stay extremely comfortable.

I presented a poster titled “Characteristics of Patients with Neurally Adjusted Ventilatory Assist (NAVA) Failure “. In this research, we conducted multi-center retrospective study to clarify the characteristics of NAVA failure. Since NAVA is not yet widely utilized in Australia or its neighbouring regions, opportunities to discuss my presentation were limited. Nevertheless, I had some insightful discussions about NAVA itself with some international doctors. These interactions were truly inspiring and have fueled my passion for my research. I hope further discussion about NAVA and related studies with PSANZ/FAOPS attendees in the near future.

This congress featured many engaging and high-level academic presentations, which I found deeply impressed. In particular, sessions regarding the “Tiny baby collaborative” and five large-scale randomized controlled trials in final session were truly remarkable. These presentations motivated me to pursue more research in my own specialized fields.

Finally, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my colleagues who were collaborated on this research. Without their support and cooperation, my participation in this congress would not have been possible. I am deeply grateful for everything they have done.
