FAOPS 2026 Parth Participation Report

Yukihito Imagawa

Department of Pediatrics, Kobe University Graduate School of Medicine, Kobe, Japan.

I received travel grants for young researchers from the Japan Society of Perinatal and Neonatal Medicine and participated in FAOPS 2026.

It was my second time attending an international conference, and I found it fascinating how the medical practice and research varied due to the different cultural and social backgrounds of each country. The sessions were filled with active discussions, allowing me to gain precious experiences that I wouldn’t have had in Japan.

I gave an oral presentation entitled “Postnatal Changes of Renin and Aldosterone in Term and Preterm Infants from Birth to Day 5.” Unfortunately, the discussion didn't go very well, in the future, I hope to be able to engage in more active discussions regarding my research projects.
" so I hope to engage more actively in discussions about my research projects in the future."

Outside of conference session, I also had the opportunity to experience Australian food and culture, which was really wonderful sightseeing.

I am grateful for the support and am determined to apply this experience to my future clinical practice and research, striving to improve even further.
